Bifunctional metal-loaded micro-mesoporous zeolites for waste plastics conversion to high quality liquid product

A series of micro-mesoporous zeolitic catalysts synthesized using recrystallization two different zeolites (HZSM-5 and beta) were impregnated with Pt other notable metals. The resulting bifunctional characterized tested for the hydrocracking a model municipal waste plastic mixture. Actual mixture same composition was also employed comparison. experiments carried out in Parr stirred batch reactor at 325, 350, 375 °C. reaction conditions fixed initial cold H2 pressure 20 bar, time 60 min, to catalyst ratio 20:1 by wt. inclusion metal has shown increase activity supports. ZSM-5 have better while beta selectivity towards liquid. presence produced quality liquid product fewer unsaturated hydrocarbons results lower coke formation as determined TGA analysis spent catalysts.
